What is Co-enzyme Q10? Well, Co-enzyme Q10 is used to provide energy for the body’s cell growth and maintenance. It is a valuable antioxidant that is normally produced by all cells in the body, but it is much more abundant in the heart, liver and immune system.

For all the immune system, Co Q10 can double the body’s level of protective antibodies, alleviate allergies, suppress proliferation of cancer cells and boost immune system chemicals that attack cancer cells, and also the body’s resistance to virus, and greatly enhance the general function of the immune system.

The scientific community has longed viewed Co-enzyme Q10 as having effective benefits is such diseases as heart disease, heart failure, breast cancer, Parkinson’s high blood pressure and Alzheimer’s.

For the cardiovascular system, Co Q10 stabilities heartbeat in arrhythmia patients, prevents atherosclerosis in the arteries by preventing oxidation of LDL cholesterol, improves blood circulation, assist the heart to function normally in the presence of blood clots, alleviates congestive heart failure, and it also improves 91% of heart attack patients within 30 days of initial Co Q10 supplementation, lowers blood pressure, improves the heart’s ability to survive and produce energy in limited oxygen situation.

It helps to prevent stroke, counteracts the toxic effects of ischemia on the brain and heart and normalizes heart function in mistral valve prolapsed patients. To find more about the benefits of co-enzyme Q10 read the following report from the University of Maryland…

I came across this just now and though a lot may have been written about CoQ10 since this post, I am alarmed at why so few doctors tell their statin patients (cholesterol-lowering) to supplement with CoQ10.

To quote from my own article at http://www.best-health-juicing.com/statin-side-effects.html , “statins work because they block the body’s cholesterol production system, but in doing so they also have an unfortunate effect on the production of CoQ10. This coenzyme provides energy to our cells, including and especially the heart which when you think about it, needs a lot of continual energy to function.”

In other words, without additional CoQ10, there is a risk of a very serious statin side effect – heart failure! One of the very things statins are meant to help prevent.

I am also convinced that CoQ10 helps reduce high blood pressure especially when used in conjunction with a juicing regimen that includes beetroot.

I’ve been taking coq10 supplements for some time now, then I discovered this : http://products.mercola.com/coq10-ubiquinol/ and If I understood correctly, there’s another supplement like coq10, but works better if you’re over 25? What do you think of this supplement?
